01 Introduction
Freelok is a technology platform that connects clients in Jordan with independent freelancers across multiple professions — including cleaning, plumbing, electrical work, painting, design, tutoring, delivery, maintenance, and other freelance services.
Clients can browse freelancer profiles, book services, make secure payments, communicate through the platform, and manage appointments. Freelancers can create professional profiles, verify their identity, manage availability, receive booking requests, communicate with clients, and receive payouts.
Freelok acts solely as a technology platform and does not employ independent freelancers.
02 Information we collect
Depending on how you use Freelok, we may collect:
- Name, email address, phone number, and encrypted password
- Profile picture and gender (if provided)
- Profession, biography, service area, and availability
- Hourly, daily, or fixed pricing
- Government ID and work permit (where applicable)
- Booking history, messages, and reviews
- Device information and IP address
- Location information, with your permission
We may also automatically collect device model, operating system, browser type, language settings, app version, crash reports, and diagnostic information.
03 Google & Apple sign-in
You may sign in using Google or Apple. Freelok only receives the information those providers choose to share, such as your name, email address, and profile picture. Freelok does not store your Google or Apple password.
04 Freelancer verification
Government IDs and work permits are collected only to verify identity, prevent fraud, protect clients, and comply with legal obligations. These documents are only visible to authorized administrators and are never publicly displayed.
05 How we use your information
Your information is used to:
- Create and manage accounts
- Process bookings and payments
- Verify freelancers
- Send notifications and provide client support
- Prevent fraud and improve the platform
- Comply with legal requirements
06 Public profile information
Clients may see the following on a freelancer's public profile: first name, profile picture, profession, biography, reviews, ratings, city, pricing, and availability.
IDs, work permits, email addresses, and verification documents are never publicly visible.
07 Messaging
In-app messages may be stored to deliver conversations, resolve disputes, improve safety, and prevent abuse.
08 Payments
- Clients generally pay before the service begins
- Payments may be temporarily held until the client confirms the service is complete, or an administrator resolves a dispute
- Freelok may charge platform service fees
09 Google Maps & location
Freelok uses Google Maps Platform and Google Places APIs to display maps, search addresses, navigate to locations, and show nearby freelancers. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.
Your use of these features is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
10 Notifications
Freelok may send notifications about bookings, payments, verification, messages, support replies, security alerts, and policy updates. You may disable notifications in your device settings.
11 Security
We protect your information with HTTPS encryption, secure authentication, restricted administrator access, and reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
12 Data retention
Personal information is retained only as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes. Afterward, data will be securely deleted or anonymized where appropriate.
13 Children's privacy
Freelok is intended only for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
14 Your privacy rights
You may view your personal information, update it, delete your account, request correction of inaccurate information, and contact Freelok regarding privacy concerns.
15 Account suspension & removal
Accounts may be suspended or removed for violations of the Terms of Service, fraud, or platform abuse. Where appropriate, users will be informed of the reason.
16 Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the latest version.
